5th grade Bullying Prevention and World Kindness Day Recognition
Fifth grade students recently participated in lessons for Bullying Prevention Month and World Kindness Day. Ms. Sewall, the 5th grade counselor, taught students the difference between bullying and just being rude, and led an activity about the impact of their words. Each student wrote about a time they were treated unkindly, then wrinkled the paper to show how hurtful words leave lasting marks. No matter how hard they tried to smooth the paper, the wrinkles remained, symbolizing how difficult it can be to undo unkindness. Students then wrote kind messages on their papers, which will be displayed in the classroom as a reminder of the power of positive words.
