Reading Elementary's Tuition-Based Preschool Program
Reading's preschool is a 5-day a week, full and half-day program that follows the same school calendar as Reading Elementary. Due to the popularity of this program, a lottery will be held for preschool registration. All children must be 3 years of age on or before September 30, 2020, to enter the lottery. Four-year-olds will have priority in the lottery.

When does my child attend preschool?
The preschool is a 5-day a week, full and half-day program. The preschool follows the same school calendar as Reading Elementary.
What are the hours?
Half-Day 8:50 a.m. - 11:50 a.m.
Full-Day 8:50 a.m. - 3:15 p.m.
How old does my child need to be to attend?
All children must be 3 years of age on or before September 30, 2020, and potty trained.
How will I receive information regarding my child’s progress in the classroom?
Student progress reports are sent home twice a year. Parent-teacher conferences are also held twice a year. Lines of communication are always open between parents and teachers.
How much does Reading Preschool cost?
Tuition to Reading Preschool is $4,450* for the full-day program and $2,550* for the half-day program. A deposit of $100 for full-day or $50 for half-day is required and will be deducted from your yearly amount. Payments are due a month in advance on the last Friday of each month* Tuition rates subject to change pending board approval.
How does the lottery work?
Families may register online for the lottery on February 3, 2020, starting at 8:00 a.m. through February 7, 2020, ending at 3:00 p.m. The lottery registration will close at 3:00 pm on February 7, 2020.
If you do not have access to a computer, the Reading Elementary office will have a kiosk open for your registration into the lottery. Families that have been randomly chosen in the lottery will receive a phone call of their acceptance on Monday, February 10. Families who were not called will be added to a waitlist. If a family rescinds their offer for a preschool opening, a family on the waiting list will be randomly selected and will receive a phone call with an opening offer. This process will continue until all openings are secured. All families participating in the lottery will be notified of their standings after the lottery is completed.
What do I need to register?
Families who have been selected for Reading’s preschool openings will have one week, February 10-14, 2020, to complete the registration process in the office with a $50 deposit for ½ day students or $100 for full-day students. The registration period will close at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, February 14. Families that fail to register within the allotted time will forfeit their spot in the program, and a family from the waiting list will be chosen.
When registering, families must provide the following: Proof of residency, Birth Certificate, and a Deposit. If a family does not provide these items during the registration process, they will lose their spot and a family from the waitlist will be selected for the opening.
