In order to alleviate the traffic backups being seen during arrival and dismissal, the district is making adjustments to our traffic flow and procedures. We will attempt this new model beginning tomorrow, Friday, September 4, and into next week. We will continue to make adjustments as needed to make improvements.
Change 1: Staff Parking
We are moving staff parking to free up the middle parking spaces of the Blue Lot across from MND.
Change 2: RHS/RMS Arrival
Slight change - due to the staggered arrival observed, we are going to shift all traffic to use the front circle only. This eliminates arrival traffic going through the Blue Lot.
Change 3: RES Arrival
Parents may use the Blue Lot to park and walk students to the entrance of RES. Doors still open at 8:05 a.m and 12:15 p.m. Access to the Blue Lot is from the entrance on Bolser. Bolser entrance is now OPEN.
Parents may also drop off students using the same traffic pattern we are currently using. Cars must pull all the way around the back and pull up to the RMS entrance if arriving early. Students may exit cars when the building opens at 8:05 a.m and 12:15 p.m.
Change 4: RES Dismissal
Grades 3-5 will be dismissed at the end of the day. Families will be asked to park in the Blue Lot for pick up and students will use the sidewalk to find their rides.
Grades PK-2 will be dismissed by number to families. Families should pick up at the elementary entrance.
Change 5: RHS/RMS Dismissal
Exit out of the Blue Lot at dismissal is to Columbia Avenue only. You cannot exit at Bolser. Bolser is now OPEN for entering only.
We will continue to have staff members located throughout the lot to help direct traffic. Thank you for your patience as we continue working to improve our arrival/dismissal process for our families and community.
