The Reading School District will be conducting a lottery for preschool enrollment.
The lottery for the 2021-2022 school year will open Monday, January 25th starting at 8:00 am and remain open through Sunday, January 31st. Notification of acceptance will begin on February 8th.
We will not be hosting an open house this year due to COVID-19 concerns.
Here are some answers to frequently asked questions:
When does my child attend preschool? Next school year the District is offering a full-day program and a half-day program. The full-day program will be 5 days per week and the half-day program will be 4 half-days per week with up to 20 students. The 4-half-day program is an integrated preschool program (7 students with an IEP and 7 typically developing students). Both preschool classrooms follow the same school calendar as Reading Elementary.
How old does my child need to be to attend? Students that will be 4 or 5 years old by September 30, 2021 will have priority. Preschoolers with a disability are eligible for the program when they turn 3 years of age. All children must be 3 years of age on or before September 30, 2021, to enter the lottery.
How much does Reading Preschool cost? Tuition for the full-day program is $5000 ($500/month for 10 months) and the half-day program is $2500 ($250/month for 10 months). A deposit of $100 for full-day and $50 for half-day is required by March 1, 2021, and will be deducted from the annual amount. Monthly payments are due on the last Friday of each month.
How do I find the lottery? There will be a link posted on the district website on January 25th at 8:00 am. The link will take you to a brief Google Form.
Tuition rates are subject to change pending board approval.
