Recently Reading Community Schools met with the executive director of the Independent Electrical Contractors trade association to start developing a pathway to an electrician apprenticeship. Due to workforce shortages in the trades, there has been a renewed focus on developing high-quality skilled laborer positions. Reading is proud to partner with organizations like the Greater Cincinnati IEC to inspire the next generation of tradesmen. New pathways are being developed to focus on high-growth opportunity careers in construction, advanced manufacturing, and logistics. These three areas are growing industries in our region and provide excellent opportunities for students wishing to continue their learning by building job skills directly out of high school.
