Reading HS Honors Convocation

Reading High School held its annual honors convocation on Friday, May 3rd, in the school's auditorium. The event was a celebration of academic achievement, athletic excellence, and community service. Students were recognized for their outstanding accomplishments throughout the school year, and scholarships totaling over 6.2 million dollars were handed out.

The scholarships included college scholarships, local memorial scholarships, and a scholarship for those entering the construction trades that included tools. The awards were a testament to the hard work and dedication of the students, as well as the support of the community in helping to fund these opportunities.

In addition to the scholarships, awards were also given for subject areas. The winners included students who had excelled in English, math, science, social studies, and art. These awards recognized the students' hard work and dedication to their studies, as well as their intellectual curiosity and love of learning.

One of the highlights of the evening was the recognition of Grace Longworth as a National Merit Scholar. This prestigious award is given to students who have demonstrated exceptional academic ability and potential for success in college and beyond. Grace's achievement was a testament to her hard work and dedication, as well as the support of her teachers, family, and community.

Another highlight of the evening was the recognition of Olivia Simpson and Benny Hess as Senior Athlete award winners. These awards recognized the outstanding athletic achievement of these two students, as well as their leadership and sportsmanship on and off the field. They were a testament to the hard work and dedication of these students, as well as the support of their coaches, teammates, and community.

Finally, Chloe Watts and Boaz McKenzie were honored with the title of Mr. and Miss Blue Devil. This award is given to two seniors who have demonstrated outstanding leadership, academic achievement, and community service. Chloe and Boaz were shining examples of the best of Reading High School, and their achievement was a testament to their hard work and dedication, as well as the support of their teachers, family, and community.
