The Health Collaborative (THC) awarded six partners with Career Exploration Microgrants benefiting students in grades 5-12 and Reading Schools was one of the recipients.
The Microgrants aim to provide support to organizations committed to shaping the healthcare workforce of tomorrow. Earlier this year, THC, with funding from the OHIO ISP grant, convened employers, educators, and community partners working to increase the availability of high-quality healthcare career exploration opportunities for middle and high school students in our region.
Nicci Weber, Vice President, Human Resources & Administrative Services at The Health Collaborative, stated, “We want to support our steadfast allies in collectively building a diverse healthcare workforce. These microgrants help with the resources necessary to continue their exemplary work.”
Reading will be using the funds to help students earn introductory credentials in healthcare pathways to get them excited about a future in the healthcare field. Two credentials that they will be focusing on is first aid and CPR as well Stop The Bleed tourniquet training. We are excited to offer these opportunities for our students and grateful to the Health Collaborative for their on going partnership in inspiring our next generation. - #BlueDevilWay!
