The mock trial team had another outstanding day at Ohio State's Buckeye Brawl with a 4-0 Second place finish and an incredible plus 71 point differential. The team defeated Ashland, Dublin Jerome and St. Ignatius, capturing a total of 6 judges' ballots. Congratulations to all and a special shout out to Krissy Bailey and William Moeggenberg for being named outstanding attorneys in the competition, to Alexa Massey for winning 2 more witness awards and to James Wooten for also winning a witness award.
The program’s amazing run through invitationals this year has netted the Blue Devils a statewide record of 12-3-1. In the process, they finished second in two of the biggest competitions this year, only missing first place because of a point differential. The students have earned a total of 3 most outstanding attorney awards with 3 different students earning an award and a total of 6 most outstanding witness awards with 3 different students earning the honor. Additionally, multiple students were ranked first or second best attorneys and witnesses in multiple trials. Essentially, 8 different Reading competitors have been selected by judges as top attorney or witness in 8 different trials.
