Congratulations to Reading Community School Teachers for Completing Resident Educator Program

Several teachers have successfully completed the Resident Educator Summative Assessment (RESA) and are now on their way to obtaining a Professional 5-year teaching license.

The Resident Educator (RE) Program, established in Ohio in 2011, was developed to help provide mentorship and professional development opportunities for beginning teachers as they embark on their careers in education. This comprehensive, two-year initiative was designed with several key goals in mind: improving teacher retention, enhancing teacher quality, and ultimately leading to improved student achievement.

The RE Program serves as a professional pathway to continued learning, guiding educators toward more effective teaching practices and excellence in the classroom. It plays a crucial role in ensuring that our educators are well-prepared to provide high-quality education to our students.

One of the central requirements of the RE Program is the successful completion of the Resident Educator Summative Assessment (RESA). This assessment serves as a critical milestone on the journey to obtaining a professional teaching license.

By completing the RESA these teachers have demonstrated their commitment to their profession by successfully navigating the rigorous RESA requirements. It is a testament to their hard work and dedication, as well as the guidance provided by facilitators such as Carletta Jacobs who oversees Reading's RE program.

These accomplished educators have not only met the RESA requirements but have also contributed to the overall success of our school community. Their dedication to professional growth will undoubtedly have a positive impact on our students' learning experiences.
