Reading Community City Schools is pleased to announce Todd Schilling has joined the district as the new Career Based Learning Coordinator. With an extensive background in education and workforce development, he brings a wealth of experience and a passion for fostering student success. In this role, he will lead the district’s efforts to connect classroom learning with real-world career opportunities, ensuring that students are well-prepared for the future.
Schilling’s role marks a significant step forward in Reading Community City Schools' commitment to providing students with the skills and experiences necessary to thrive in an ever-evolving job market. As Career Based Learning Coordinator, Schilling will oversee the development and implementation of programs that integrate academic learning with practical, hands-on experiences. This will include partnerships with local businesses, internships, co-op programs, and other initiatives that align students’ education with their career aspirations.

"My goal is to help students discover their passions and connect them with the resources and experiences they need to succeed in their chosen career paths."
Todd previously served as the Career Connections Coordinator at Darke County Economic Development where he oversaw the implementation of career pathways and development for 8 school districts. Prior to that he served as the Pre-Apprenticeship Coordinator at Sinclair Community College, where he worked with high school administrators and employers to develop work-based learning opportunities for high school students. He also served as the College Credit Plus coordinator at Sinclair. He worked with over 50 high schools to develop curriculum pathways utilizing the College Credit Plus program and assisted students/families in their various pathway navigation.
In his new role, Schilling will also work closely with teachers to integrate career exploration into the curriculum at all grade levels. By exposing students to a variety of career options early on, the district aims to help students make informed decisions about their future and develop the skills necessary to succeed in a global economy.
