We are thrilled to recognize Garrett Edwards as the November recipient of the Blue Devil Hero Award! Garrett’s dedication to both his classroom and coaching responsibilities has made him an invaluable member of our school community and a true example of Blue Devil pride.
As an educator, Garrett teaches government and AP Government, a challenging course load that he delivers with enthusiasm and a genuine passion for the subject. He has developed a unique local history elective that has sparked students’ interest in their community, organizing hands-on activities and multiple field trips that immerse students in the real-world history around them. Garrett’s innovative lessons bring his curriculum to life, creating memorable experiences for his students. His consistent preparation and commitment to excellence are evident every day in his classroom.
Beyond his teaching duties, Garrett coaches both our football and baseball teams, investing countless hours in practice, preparation, and mentorship to give his athletes the skills and character needed to succeed both on and off the field. Despite the long hours his dual role demands, Garrett approaches his work with unwavering dedication, setting a powerful example for students and colleagues alike.
In addition to his school responsibilities, Garrett is an active member of the Reading Historical Society and a resident of Reading, embodying a commitment to both his profession and community. His contributions to our school district and his steadfast role as a mentor and role model make him a shining example of what it means to be a true Blue Devil Hero.
