Reading Dancers Shine at SCAU Showcase of Stars

The SCAU Showcase of Stars is an event that brings together talented dancers to perform and compete at a professional level. Designed to highlight dancers' dedication, artistry, and athleticism, the showcase fosters a positive and inspiring environment for all participants. This year, over a hundred dancers across Ohio competed in various categories, showcasing their hard work and passion for the sport.

Reading Schools was well represented at the competition, with several soloists taking the stage. Among them, 7th grader Charleigh Sand competed in the Junior Nova category, and sophomore Nora Anne Davis competed in the Senior Nova category. Both delivered outstanding performances and were awarded 1st place in their respective categories, earning the title of 2025 SCAU Showcase Queen.

Beyond their individual achievements, the weekend demonstrated the teamwork and dedication within Reading’s dance program. Though the dancers compete against each other at events like these, their support for one another was evident. From behind-the-scenes moments of encouragement to the tears of joy shed for each other’s victories, the sense of teamwork and sportsmanship was on full display.

This strong, supportive culture is a direct reflection of the dedication of Reading’s dance coach, Sam Davis, who instills not only technical excellence but also a spirit of encouragement and unity among their athletes.

We are incredibly proud of Charleigh, Nora Anne, and all the soloists who represented Reading Schools at the SCAU Showcase of Stars. Congratulations to all on an incredible weekend of competition, achievement, and teamwork!
